Sunday started off dull but cold (0c).
Soon after I got up it started snowing. Only light at first, but then getting slowly heavier. I kept an eye on it whilst reading the papers. After a couple of hours it started settling. I suggested to Dad that I stay at home, but he was adamant that we were going as the roads were OK.
I went out of the back door as the passage was snow free. Dad left the chariot outside the back door (under cover) whilst he cleared the snow by the passenger door
In I got and off we went. Arrived at the pub and Dad opened the boot and said, "Where's the wheelchair"? He'd forgotten it!
So I went in the pub and sat at the bar whilst he went home to fetch it. Twenty minutes sat on a wooden bar stool (with my bony arse) looking at a drink I couldn't reach and the lads saying " cheers" every two minutes was not the ideal start to my lunchtime!!
Dad was soon back and the lads went out to help him in the snow.
They're a good bunch really, but the true star is my Dad!!
JohnG, you haven't said it, but it makes me realise just how dependent we are when we are ill / injured.
ReplyDeleteI remember when I was alone and sick in 2014, so sick, I could barely get myself a glass of water. Had to struggle to cook.
You have such good people around you. :-)
